We’re Sick Of Fake Marketing Business Gurus: Why Materialism is Not the Path to Success

As the CEO of AmpiFire, I’ve seen many people in the online business world showcasing their flashy cars and expensive mansions, trying to impress others with their wealth.

These guys might be smart at making money, but they are not smart at managing it. And that’s where the problem lies.

In this post, I will explain why the mentality of “spend big and show off” is a recipe for disaster, and how you can adopt a smarter, more sustainable approach to running your online business.

Why Flashy Gurus Are Losing Their Freedom

I’m sure you’ve seen those Instagram posts of people flaunting their flashy cars and big houses, as if to say “Look how successful I am!” But in reality, these material possessions are nothing more than a burden that ties you down and restricts your financial freedom.

The validation these gurus think they are getting from others quickly wears off when they realize it’s shallow attention. You can’t replace real love and admiration with expensive assets.

By all means, treat yourself with things you truly enjoy, but going on a spending spree and then showing off about it is not smart business.

It shows weakness and the need for validation.

And it restricts you financially and takes so much time. And you cannot take risks because your expenses are so high.

If you can’t take risks, you’ve lost your freedom.

As you can see, there is a lot more to running a successful business than just flashing your wealth and bragging about your accomplishments. It’s about creating value for others, helping them achieve their goals, and building strong relationships along the way.

My Personal Experience

I live a simple and lean life.

My living expenses are very small compared to my income. If you can cut your income in a quarter and your life stays the same, then you can still take risks because there’s money in the bank.

That’s just smart business – keep expenses low. And it can take work to get there… it did for me. But it’s bigger than that.

My dad told me something when he almost died and thought he might just die – “You won’t remember the stuff you bought, you’ll remember the experiences and relationships that you had.” Running a business is about freedom.

Those guys showing off flashy cars and mansions (if they even own them) are losing that freedom because they have more stuff to worry about and manage.

The Solution – Sell the Success of Your Clients

So, what’s the solution? Don’t sell your own success — sell the success of your clients or whatever you promote.

When you look at successful people, such as Russell Brunson, he’s not going around talking about how big his company is or how great he is. He talks about the success of his students.

He puts the significance on them. That’s next-level marketing and selling.

Sure, it works to an extent if you have made some amazing accomplishments and you let people know. It can give you some credibility or authority… But it feels ‘dirty’ when compared to talking about the success of your clients.

And it makes your customers feel similarly when they buy from you.

How to Apply this to Your Business

This applies to your business no matter what field you’re in.

If you’re an affiliate marketer and you’re promoting a product – Talk about the success of the people who use that product. Testimonials, case studies, etc. Social proof works!

If you’re an eCom store owner – Same thing. Focus on the RESULTS the products you’re selling produce for the people who BUY and who have already bought them.

If you’re a success coach – Don’t always talk about your own accomplishments or how much money you’re making as a coach or with other businesses.

If you’re a local marketing consultant – Talk about the success of your clients. That client who is now ranking in the ‘3-pack’ for his niche, or the one who got 10 new high-paying clients last month because of the work you did.

Talk about the success of your clients. Make them the focal point of significance.

As you can see, there is a lot more to running a successful business than just flashing your wealth and bragging about your accomplishments. It’s about creating value for others, helping them achieve their goals, and building strong relationships along the way.

So if you want to take your business to the next level, follow the advice I’ve shared with you today. Focus on your clients and their success, and you’ll find that you achieve more than you ever thought possible.

And remember, it’s not just about making money. It’s about gaining freedom, both financially and personally.

So stay smart and keep it real, and you’ll be well on your way to success.

What do you think about this approach? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments in the AmpiFire community.
